Winter Days in Michigan are still here

Yes, I haven't been very good about adding to my blog lately. The winter seems to be dragging on forever - we're all getting a little cabin fever.

Savana turned 8 months and I swear Canon aged an entire year mentally this past month. It is so crazy how they just all of a sudden grow up like that. All of a sudden he likes to just sit and cut with his scissors, play with play dough, and paint with his "Water Wow" book (painting with water, it's great!) Don't get me wrong, he is still a crazy little boy, but it is nice to be able to reason with him a little more and he understands! We even bought him a couple of puzzles over the weekend and he has put those things together about 50 times already.

Savana is still our little sweat heart. She loves to eat and doesn't crawl or anything, so she is building up some nice little thunder thighs. She sits really well, but still hates her stomach. So she just plays with what is in arms reach and that is good enough for her. She still does her little head shake to express her excitement and she even learned to clap her hands. I love the sound of those fat little hands clapping together.

So I guess the most interesting thing right now is our schedule that we've developed. It isn't much, but seems to keep us almost sane. On Mondays we mostly stay home and catch up on naps from the weekend. (Ok, Savana catches up, I wish I was napping and Canon just runs around the house making messes) Tuesdays we either go to a playgroup with MOMS Club or go to story time at the library. The story times here in Farmington Hills are actually really great. They have story and songs for about a half an hour and then bring out toys and craft activities for another hour. I've tried to get Canon to make crafts, but he usually wants to play with all the toys. Last week he sat and did a great big puzzle for almost the entire time. Today we went to the first ward play group. We just went to the church and let the kids run around in the gym. Canon was so happy to have a place to push his lawn mower around as fast as he could. Thursday we do another library story time and then Friday we usually stay home. Some where in the rest of our time we go to the grocery store. Canon calls it the "Monster" store because he can't say lobster. We went yesterday and the guy at the seafood counter pulled out a lobster so Canon could pet it. I don't know what it is - the grocery store people love him.

Thanks Haley for inspiring me to write. It has actually been good for me to write about all the good stuff we do right now. Not that life is bad, but it is just cold and I'm ready to start going outside soon. I hope that day comes soon!
